All About Me

I got interested in cooking at a young age when I would watch my mom and Aunts lovingly cook traditional Gujarati cuisine in their houses. What widened my horizons was the many visits to Goa, my Dad’s hometown, where I was intrigued with the bold tastes of Coastal food and the amazing goodness of sea food! I myself started cooking when I was about 13 years old, and have been hooked since then!

Once in college I started taking small orders for parties by friends and relatives. Being a voracious reader, I started reading up about the culinary world expanding my knowledge of the world of food. My parents encouraged my passion and took me to various restaurants in Mumbai and elsewhere thereby exposing me to world cuisine. My passion for traveling further helped me acquire invaluable inputs and this propelled me to start developing my own recipes. I soon realized that my main interest and forte was Curries & sauces!

 

After spending almost a year on basic research and development, I launched my own range of “Signature Sauces”! Now these sauces are sold only in bulk packing to Restaurants, Food Trucks and to Home chefs who would like to offer premium products and flavors. (I provide consultancy as well to Home chefs) 

After having taught cooking to many people in India and abroad, In keeping with the new trend, I have now launched my own ONLINE COOK-ALONG CLASSES!

I am NOW 100% Vegan. I would like to be known as a ‘Vegan Chef’, not a ‘Vegan activist’, for I truly respect each person’s choice of what they eat. 

From a professional perspective, I will even teach people who are not Vegan or vegetarian, though I would myself not cook or eat it, for that is what I truly believe in.
